Swimming with Daddy

We have been staying at the Ronald McDonald House right next to the hospital on weekends so we are closer to Jacob. With that we get free access to the YMCA. To keep Cameron entertained Daddy took him swimming in a pool for the 1st time. Mommy sat on the side lines and had fun watching them splash and jump around. Cameron had so much fun it was like pulling teeth to get him out.

Jacob is gaining weight!

Jacob has moved out of the 3lb category and now weights 4lbs 1oz. He is still having issues with reflux and dropping his stats. So today (June 30th) the doctor decided to give him a blood transfusion and see if he may have a urinary infection or any other infection or virus. Most of the tests came back negative but we are waiting to see about a virus which we will not find out for 48 hours. Overall we are being told everything Jacob is going through is normal preemie "stuff"!

Bath time with Daddy

Daddy was lucky to be visiting Jacob one night while mommy & Cameron were in bed for the night. He got to give him a bath and put clothes on him for the first time. Notice Jacobs bath tub is a storage container with a little mesh bed to lay on.

Cameron or Jacob..............that is the question!!

Mommy and Daddy think Jacob looks a lot like Cameron when he was just born. What do you think???

Kangaroo Care with Jacob

Today I got to do Kangaroo Care which means skin to skin snuggling with Jacob. It was amazing. The first time we did it I held him for about an hour but towards the end he got really fussy so after a little while the nurse said we should put him back in his womb. Once she got him out of my shirt she noticed the reason he was crying was because one of his cords was wrapped around his foot. We felt so terrible. After Chris and I grabbed lunch I held him again and we had a much better experience. We snuggled the whole time. God truely is GREAT!!!!!

He is too skinny to have a double chin already :)

Sleepy Cameron

Daddy took Cameron to a Bats baseball game he was SO tired afterwards that he fell asleep right when they got to the car. We couldn't resist taking a picture as he was so cute.

Earlier in the day, Mommy put Cameron down for a nap, He decided he wasn't ready to sleep so he ended up getting out of his big boy bed and playing for a little while. Daddy & Mommy listened and laughed thru the monitor. Cameron must have started to get tired and fell asleep at the door.

Big day for Jacob.......June 16

Today was a good day for us. Jacob pooped, got his ventilator taken out, and got to be cuddled with by Mommy and Daddy. We are so blessed by how well he is doing.

Jacob in his bed (womb) with no ventilator while his big brother looks over him in the back ground (notice the picture in the background).

The nurse (Tracy) getting Jacob ready for Mommy & Daddy to hold him. Tracy was also 1 of the many nurses in the delivery room.

Jacab's 1st visitors

Jacob had his 1st visitors over the weekend and really enjoyed hearing other voices than Mommy and Daddy. He was very agitated so no one was able to hold him but they did enjoy talking to him. He was voted cutest baby in the NICU............by "his" visitors :)

Kacey Schaller can't wait to meet Jacob but no kids under 3 are allowed in the NICU.

Visiting Mommy & Baby

Cameron has been coming up every Friday for a lil slumber party and this is how he walked in Mommy's room. He walked around all night looking like this and wanted his "ha" and glasses first thing in the morning. The passy is due to him cutting another back molar.

Playing baseball with Daddy. We are still working with him on how to hold the bat :)

Cameron was entertaining Daddy and Mommy by putting on his hat over his face and trying to walk around. It was so funny!!!

He loves going to the end of my bed and shaking it :) How he rememebers to do it everytime he visits cracks us up.
