Oxygen off.........just kidding!

On Saturday they tried taking off Jacob's oxygen again around 10am. It was back on at 3pm. He still just needs a little puff of air in his lungs. Now the plan is to start the discharge process and if he doesn't drop his heartrate for 3 consecutive days.........he will be coming home:) Below are the only 3 pictures since birth with nothing on his face. Isn't he handsome??? We think so.

Jacobs 1st Bottle feeding

Today was a big day for Jacob. Ronda the speech pathologist met with him in the afternoon to see how ready he was to try a bottle for part of his feeds. From the different tests, Jacob was more than ready. The first test was Ronda put her finger on the side of his mouth and his tongue followed it. Second, she put her pinky in his mouth to see how well he was able to suck. Third, she stuck her finger down his throat to see if he would gag. If not, then they wouldn't even offer a bottle. Since Jacob passed all the tests, he was offered 25 cc's of my milk. He took 18 of it with no problem. Then Jacob passed out cold.

Ronda trying to burp Jacob. He is just like Cameron and not a fast one to burp.

Jacob our Lil Man.

Passed out on Ronda after he worked so hard this afternoon.

Again Cameron or Jacob??????

I stumbled upon the picture of Cameron and thought the one of Jacob just looked like him. Well if he didn't have his oxygen and feeding tube taped to his face.

Breathing Treatments

Jacob has some fluid on the lungs that is from his IV fluids and the oxygen. So he gets breathing treatments 3 times a day. First mommy got to clean out his mouth from saliva.

Jacob's Suite

July 7th was Jacobs moving day from the NICU at Kosairs Hospital to the NICU at Norton Hospital. Thanks to our wonderful nurse Nicole who mentioned that we should be the next family to move over to the new area. Jacob has his own room and when mommy and daddy visit they can now relax in a recliner and watch TV or a movie.
