August 28th.......last day in the NICU

Jacob's last day at the NICU was wonderful but also sad. Everyone that fell in love with Jacob stopped by to say Bye.

Misty one of Jacob's nurses wanted him to enjoy some "fun" time so she got him a swing to hang out in. He LOVED it.

Car Seat Trial

Jacob had to sit in his car seat for an hour which is the time it takes us to get home from the hospital. He cannot drop his heart rate or oxygen level at all during that time. The first time he did it he dropped his oxygen level to 80 so Sunday his nurse Molly did it again. She said he passed but Theresa his nurse practioner wants to do it again the day before he goes home.

On Saturday they tried taking off Jacob's oxygen again around 10am. It was back on at 3pm. He still just needs a little puff of air in his lungs. Now the plan is to start the discharge process and if he doesn't drop his heartrate for 3 consecutive days.........he will be coming home:) Below are the only 3 pictures since birth with nothing on his face. Isn't he handsome??? We think so.
